Sleepover for Geographers

There’s less than a month to go until The Geography Camp in Kent – a sleepover for people who like geography – brought to you by The Geography Collective. LMF Gallery Travels to SOC’s Summer School

The LMF map gallery made an appearance at the Society of Cartographers‘ 47th Annual Summer School last month in Plymouth. Next year’s event will take place in London as part of the London Mapping Festival from 3-5 Sept 2012.

MAPPING SHOWCASE 2011

For one day, in one place, Mapping Showcase is the event dedicated to the diverse range of mapping-related technologies and services available in the marketplace.
There’s a fantastic line-up of exhibitors, keynotes from visionary leaders throughout the wider mapping community, sessions on how organisations can optimise their mapping investment, map surgeries, networking opportunities, quizzes and so much more.

Free London Pub Quiz at Mapping Showcase

Come and test your knowledge of London’s geography with a pub-style quiz. Londonist.com, the website about London and everything in it, has put together a fiendish quiz to coincide with the Mapping Showcase. From the Tube map, to historic cartography, to the hidden hills and rivers of the capital, it’s all covered in this fun quiz, with special prizes. New Book!

The London Mapping Festival’s “London in Maps” book is an exciting collection of maps and images that depict London today and as it was in yester year.
This hardback contains 200 pages of full colour, highly detailed maps, charts and cartograms, as well as aerial and satellite images and artist impressions ranging from the modern day back to the 17th century.
