The Royal Institute of Navigation is a learned society and a registered charity based in London. Founded in 1947 and with a worldwide membership it has three main aims: to unite in one body all those with an interest in navigation; to further the development of navigation in every sphere; and to increase public awareness of the art and science of navigation.
The only requirement for becoming a member is an interest in navigation, whether it is on land, on water, in the air or in space, and be it human or non human.
