The British Geological Survey (BGS) is the UK’s premier provider of objective and authoritative geoscientific data, information and knowledge. The BGS offers a range of information services, increasingly online, providing public and business access to a wide range of spatial data, databases, records, 3-D models and other geological materials. This includes licensing services for value added spatial data, such as on geology, natural geohazards (e.g. ground stability, radon), hydrogeology and mineral resources. There are also value added services offering advice and records for site developments and investigations (GeoReports and GeoRecords), and further complementary open-access web services for viewing of public-interest information.
